Tax For All goes offline on 2 to 3 November while 2025 TD1 returns run to 30 November

The Tax Department has announced that the Tax For All (TFA) system will be unavailable from Monday 2 November 2026 at 21:00 until Tuesday 3 November at 12:00. The outage falls inside the extra month for 2025 individual TD1 returns, which can be filed and paid without penalties until 30 November 2026.

What happened

According to the Tax Department announcement, as reported by Tothemaonline on 29 October 2026, the outage is for planned works. While it lasts, neither TFA nor the services that run through it can be accessed.

The deadline for the 2025 TD1 individual income tax return and payment was 31 October 2026. On 19 October the Tax Department announced that returns filed and tax paid by 30 November 2026 carry no interest or monetary charges, provided both are done by that date. The extension covers employees, pensioners and self-employed people without audited accounts whose gross income was above €19,500.

Because of the gradual move to Tax For All, from 1 November 2026 a return marked "Final Submission" may no longer be switched back to "Temporary Receipt", as Sigmalive and Dialogos reported. The 2025 TD1 is still filed electronically through TAXISnet.

What it means for an office in Cyprus

For accounting firms and businesses that prepare returns for staff, partners or shareholders, November is tighter than it looks. Roughly half a working day is lost at the start of the month while TFA is down, and the Tax Department expects heavy traffic on the system in the last days before 30 November.

The second change matters more: if a return is finally submitted with an error from November onwards, correcting it the old way may not be possible. Checking before the final submission now counts more than ever. A simple automation helps here: a checklist per client, a comparison of the figures with the documents you hold, and reminders for anything missing, so that the work is not all left for the last week. This is not tax advice: for any specific case, speak to your accountant or the Tax Department.

What to do

  • Do not plan any Tax For All filings or payments between 21:00 on 2 November and 12:00 on 3 November
  • List every 2025 TD1 return still pending and set an internal deadline before 20 November
  • Check each return before "Final Submission", since going back to "Temporary Receipt" may no longer be possible
  • Pay the tax together with the filing: the interest waiver applies only if both are done by 30 November
  • Ask clients and partners for missing documents now, with automatic reminders where possible
